About this kilt
The Black Watch clan, officially known as the Royal Highland Regiment, originated in the early 18th century as a force tasked with maintaining order in the Scottish Highlands. Formed by six independent Highland companies, they were primarily composed of men from the loyalist clans, chosen to police their own lands and prevent rebellion. In 1739, the companies were unified into a single regiment, adopting the distinctive dark tartan that would later become iconic. Known for their discipline and bravery, the Black Watch served with distinction in numerous conflicts, becoming one of Scotland's most respected military units.
This tartan features blue, green, and black colors. The pattern is a harmonious blend of these hues, creating an elegant and stylish appearance reflective of the heritage it represents.
