I did order a little larger than I needed because I was between sizes, so it will need a belt to make it fit well, but the waistband is equipped with sturdy belt loops. The pleats are stitched along the edges to keep them sharp, and the fabric is quite stiff, so you might want to sew some curtain weights in the hem to keep it hanging nicely.
Since 2015 I wear a kilt almost everyday Spring, Summer and Fall - sometimes a traditional kilt and sometimes a utilikilt. I particularly like with this one with the two additional smaller pockets not found on earlier utilikilts (earlier ones only have the two large cargo pockets). Definitely no need for a sporran to hold your things (wallet, keys, comb etc.) It is nice that you can unsnap the cargo pockets but the waist closure system needs a little help.
Received my utility kilt after just 3 weeks. The stitching and quality is great. A really heavy weight to the material also. Brilliant details the pockets and the size or length are spot on. I can't wait to make another purchase.
